Wish Farms Family Foundation donates $1,000 to The Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundation

The Wish Farms Family Foundation has set aside funds to donate to our employee’s favorite charities. As part of our ongoing effort to make an impact in our community, we want to learn about the causes that our pixies care about. Each month, The Wish Farms Family Foundation reviews employee nominations and chooses a different organization to donate to. For the month of January, $1,000 was donated to the Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundation.

About ASDF:

ASDF assists children with Autism by giving them iPads for communication purposes. According to the CDC, 1 in 36 children are now diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and of that number 30% are nonverbal. A non-verbal child having access to communication through an iPad loaded with Augmentative and Alternative Communication software can greatly improve the ability to communicate and thrive through use of picture prompts and text.

Jessica Calderon nominated the Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundation.

“My 3-year-old son, Grayson, is still nonverbal and he may be reliant upon a device like this in the future. Organizations like ASDF mean the world to autism parents.”
