The Wish Farms Family Foundation has set aside funds to donate to our employee’s favorite charities. As part of our ongoing effort to make an impact in our community, we want to learn about the causes that our pixies care about. Each month, The Wish Farms Family Foundation reviews employee nominations and chooses a different organization to donate to. We started this program in 2022 and it was such a success, we are continuing with our employee grant program in 2024. For the month of September, $1,000 was donated to Guitars for Vets.
About Guitars for Vets
This organization is dedicated to helping Veterans suffering from PTSD. The meditative and rhythmic aspects of playing the guitar can aid in reducing stress, anxiety, and insomnia. They provide free guitar instruction, a new acoustic guitar and a guitar accessory kit in a structured program run by volunteers, primarily through the VA
The focused concentration required to learn and play music can serve as a grounding technique, helping veterans stay present in the moment and alleviate the intrusive thoughts. This initiative not only equips veterans with a coping mechanism but also fosters a sense of accomplishment, empowerment, and self-worth.
