Recent news stories and social media posts have circulated misleading, recycled, and confusing headlines regarding blueberry recalls. We want consumers to have the facts.
Fresh blueberries are not involved in any current recalls.
The most recent frozen blueberry recall was announced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on July 3, 2026 and involved specific lots of GreenWise Organic IQF Frozen Blueberries imported from Chile.
Because fresh blueberries have a limited shelf life, any fresh fruit harvested during that period has long since moved through the supply chain and is no longer in the marketplace. Additionally, Wish Farms does not source blueberries from the grower involved in the recall, nor do we offer frozen blueberries.
On August 18, the FDA classified the recall as Class I, its highest risk classification; this was a classification of the existing recall and did not represent a new recall or newly identified outbreak. FDA always classifies every recall, and this wasn’t classified until recently.
Consumers should always verify recall information through trusted sources, as outdated stories and social media posts can sometimes create unnecessary confusion. The FDA maintains the most current information on recalls, market withdrawals, and safety alerts.
