Did you know that June’s full moon is referred to as a Strawberry Moon!? How cool is that?
The tradition goes back to the 19th century, when the Algonquin tribe referred to the bright, red toned full moon as the strawberry moon. They saw it as a sign that the strawberries were ripe and ready to pick.
In Europe, this moon is known as the Full Rose Moon.
Tonight’s moon will be the smallest full moon of 2017, and will also be the lowest moon. Because it is so low, its color may appear to be a shade of amber, and look like a honey moon.
