The USDA defines the term ‘organic’ as organic food produced using sustainable agricultural production practices. Organic farming techniques require naturally managing soil health, weed management and pest control. Conventional pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers made with synthetic ingredients are not permitted.
Certified organic land, must be free of chemical inputs for at least three years prior to certification. Organic farms are inspected by a government-approved certifier to ensure the farm adheres to all USDA organic guidelines. Annual third-party inspections are conducted at random to ensure standards are upheld and proper documentation is recorded.
Wish Farms continuously monitors the organic farming operations of our partners and offers expert council. Our growers share in our commitment to do all we can to conserve and protect our land and precious resources for the generations to come.
