Role Overview
The Inventory Analyst is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, analyzing inventory performance, and providing data-driven insights that support operational and financial decisions. This role reviews sales orders, transfers, invoicing, and inventory activity, investigates discrepancies such as spoilage and product loss, and partners closely with Purchasing, Warehouse, Operations, and Finance teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and skilled at solving problems, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, support month-end activities, and travel occasionally to warehouse locations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze daily inventory activity, including receipts, sales orders, transfers, invoicing, and inventory adjustments to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, including spoilage, shrinkage, damaged product, and other inventory variances, and partner with operational teams to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Maintain and enhance inventory reporting and key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory accuracy, turns, losses, gross profit, and other business metrics.
- Combine and analyze data from multiple systems, including ERP and inventory management platforms, to develop meaningful reports and actionable insights.
- Perform regular audits, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliations to maintain accuracy and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate and support physical inventory counts, investigate variances, and ensure accurate inventory records across locations.
- Partner with Purchasing, Warehouse, Operations, Sales, and Finance teams to resolve inventory issues and improve inventory processes.
- Support month-end inventory close activities, including reconciliations, reporting, and variance analysis.
- Utilize advanced Excel tools and reporting techniques to analyze data, identify trends, and support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of experience in inventory analysis, inventory control, supply chain, purchasing, accounting, or a related analytical role preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or a related field a plus but not required. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, and other data analysis functions.
- Experience working with large datasets and transforming data into meaningful business insights.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify trends, investigate issues, and recommend solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across departments.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
- Experience with inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, audits, and variance analysis preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems required; familiarity with Famous ERP and/or myCHEP is a plus.
- SQL experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to warehouse and distribution locations.
