Frosty Blue Farms
Frosty Blue Farms began as a family hobby and planted approximately 1.5 acres in 2000, with their first harvest in 2001. Owners, Lee and Wendy West, along with their three kids harvested the first fruit themselves, and soon after they realized they needed support in keeping up with the ripening berries. In the middle of their first season, they added more help, and have continued to have wonderful help at their farm every season following.
After two seasons of harvesting the originally planted blueberries, they decided to expand the farm. The family, along with some of their kid’s friends as hired-hands, completed the expansion of an additional 1.5 acres. Following the third season, they stuck their neck out and planted the remaining property, completing the 8-acre blueberry farm.

|BEHIND THE NAME:||“Known as the “bloom,” the waxy, silvery-white substance on the surface of blueberries acts as a barrier against insects and bacteria and helps to seal in the fruit’s moisture. The bloom is also a sign of freshness since it fades with time and handling. This gives a frosty appearance to the blueberry, hence FROSTY BLUE FARMS! We are proud of the quality of bloom found on our blueberries every year!”|
