HR & Payroll Tax Specialist

Position: Full time

Location: Plant City, FL

We have a career opportunity available for a talented and motivated individual to join our team at our Headquarters Office in Plant City, FL as an HR & Payroll Tax Specialist.  Qualified individuals will need to have an extremely high attention to detail and be well versed in payroll taxes and other human resources functions.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Prepare, pay, and file employer taxes for federal income tax, social security tax, medicare tax for 5 entities. File 941s, 943s, 940s.
  • Prepare, pay and file state unemployment taxes for FL, CA, TN, and GA. (RT6, DE9, DE9C)
  • Prepare, pay and file employer taxes for state income tax, municipal taxes, state disability, education and training taxes, and any other state or area specific employer payroll taxes for CA and GA, additional states may be added in the future
  • Set up tax accounts to pay all employer related payroll taxes for various entities and state locations as needed
  • Audit and discover any needed corrections on any necessary payroll tax related items
  • Reconcile and pay biweekly payroll taxes for 5 entities
  • Reconcile and pay workers compensation for all entities based on compensation class code rates
  • Reconcile to payroll records and pay all benefits billing per entity
  • Monitor, pay and reconcile all HSA and FSA employee accounts
  • Management of wage garnishments and payments for child support, IRS tax levies, etc
  • Reconcile and pay 401k for all employees weekly, monitor and reconcile loans associated with 401k
  • Manage all DEO unemployment compensation accounts for all entities
  • Participate in annual audits for 401k and Workers Compensation
  • Compile accurate annual census data for 2500+ employees for 401k and benefits
  • EEO-1 reports and CA state EEO reporting
  • 1095C electronic filing federally and state level
  • Assist with compiling payroll data for legal compliance purposes
  • Various other in-house payroll and labor reports
  • Assistance with other ad hoc reporting as requested by management
  • Assistance with other Human Resources related tasks as requested by management

QUALIFICIATIONS:

  • Extremely detail orientated individual with proven experience in preparing and filing multi-state and federal payroll taxes and corrections
  • High degree of self-structure with the ability to perform successfully under minimal supervision
  • A high level of analytical reasoning and problem-solving abilities
  • Working knowledge of excel including pivot tables, vlookups, xlookups, sumifs, etc.
  • Experience working with employee benefits and insurance programs a plus
  • Experience with Famous Software a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field or equivalent relevant experience
